Understanding Size Charts and Conversions

When it comes to shopping for clothing, one of the most important aspects to consider is size. However, sizing can be confusing due to the different measurement systems used globally. This information aims to help you understand size charts and conversions, particularly for the brand 'DEER YOU.' We will discuss the Australian (AU) size and its conversion to UK, US, and EU sizes. We will also touch on measurements in centimetres and inches for waist, bust, and hip sizes.

DEER YOU Size Chart

Firstly, let's talk about the DEER YOU size chart. This brand uses the Australian (AU) size system, which may be different from other size systems you are familiar with. Here, the primary measurements to consider are the waist, bust, and hip measurements.

Measurements in Centimetres

For those who are more comfortable with the metric system, DEER YOU provides measurements in centimetres. The waist size refers to the circumference around your natural waistline, which is the narrowest part of your body, usually just above the belly button. The bust size refers to the circumference around the fullest part of your chest, typically across the nipples. The hip size refers to the circumference around the widest part of your hips. Be sure to measure accurately for the best fit.

Measurements in Inches

If you're more familiar with the imperial system, don't worry. DEER YOU also provides measurements in inches. The same areas are measured: the waist, bust, and hips. A soft, flexible measuring tape is your best friend when it comes to getting accurate measurements. Remember that the inch measurements will be smaller numbers than the centimetre measurements, but they represent the same sizes.

DEER YOU Size Conversion

Now, let's discuss size conversion. If you're shopping for DEER YOU clothing from outside Australia, it's essential to understand how the AU size converts to the sizing system in your country. This can vary widely, so let's break it down by region.

Conversion to UK Size

The UK size system is relatively similar to the AU system, but there can be some differences. When converting from AU to UK size, you might find that you need a size smaller than you're used to. Always refer to the DEER YOU size chart to ensure accuracy.

Conversion to US Size

When converting from AU to US sizes, you'll generally need to go down 2 sizes. For example, an AU size 8 would be a US size 4. However, this can vary depending on the brand and style, so always check the size chart. As our AU sizing is generous you may only need to go down one size. We also provide measurements per garment to help you make the best choice.

Conversion to EU Size

European sizes are entirely different, so when converting from AU to EU sizes, always refer to the size chart for the most accurate conversion.

In conclusion, understanding size charts and conversions can make your shopping experience far more successful and satisfying. Always remember to measure accurately and refer to the brand's specific size chart for the best results. Happy shopping!

How to correctly measure

Bust

Measure the circumference of your chest. Place one end of the tape measure at the fullest part of your bust, wrap it around (under your armpits, around your shoulder blades, and back to the front) to get the measurement.

Waist

Measure the circumference of your waist. Use the tape to circle your waist (as a belt would) at your natural waistline, which is located above your belly button and below your rib cage. (If you bend to the side, the crease that forms is your natural waistline.) If you generally fasten your clothes below your waist, take that measurement as well.

Hip

Measure the circumference of your hips. Start at one hip and wrap the tape measure around your rear, around the other hip, and back to where you started. Make sure the tape is over the largest part of your buttocks.

HELPFUL TIPS:

If you do not have a tape measure try using  a length of string or a belt (anything that is long enough) and then use this on a ruler.
